This is by far one of the better Mexican Restaurants we have attended.
All items are prepared in great time and are excellent.  If  you order something LUIS will tell you, please not today, it didn't turn out so good.
What Restaurant tells you this, besides LUIS makes the greatest Margaritas ( No matter what flavor or type you like)  they are all great..
Good service and friendly smiles all around.

Read reviews of others and I am baffled that anyone sees this place as anything more than a local hangout , and maybe that's what's the issue unless your a local you get bad service and bad food .
Took my 4 boys and my eldest sons girlfriend to this place on our way back from castaic lake from a day of fishing . I have passed this place several times back and forth for years and always meant to stop in to check the place out hoping it would be a hidden gem in the Leona valley ..... it's not !!
I believe it was the owner who actually took care of us and the place was fairly busy and I work in retail so I generally rule in a business favor when I recognized it's busier than usual .
The waiter or owner , I'm not sure which one he was .
He seated us right away .. but then left us for 15 minutes without water or any drinks , threw our chips on the table as it almost fell over and when my youngest son asked for a mild salsa the waiter said " it's mild even for Gringos " I couldn't believe it and thought maybe it was his dated humor and let it slide . We ordered simple plates
    Nachos - a 2 and that's generous
Cheese enchilada 1 - cheese was still cold and shredded inside - he says to me - I will put it in the microwave ... I could have done that myself at home , WTF
The tacos were good .. solid 3
Slow service , poor quality of food and the attitude of the server was crazy , almost to the point I thought we might be apart of a show or video of what would you do ...
I've passed this place several times and after today I will continue to pass it by as I would warn you all to do the same

Have been coming here last several years. I don't care for the food. Like coming out is cozy away from the city.

So this turned out to be a surprisingly good meal, and much better than what we had expected based on the Yelp rating. The chips and salsa brought to the table at first were good but the salsa was a little too spicy for us so we asked for something milder and the result was that we got two really delicious ones, a regular one as well as a green one, both really good. Mr. Picky scarfed up most of the latter.

We decided to sample a selection of entrées, so we ordered Chili Relleno, Fajitas, and what I think was the best dish by far, the Banderillas. I asked for extra cheese to be melted on the rice for that dish and that was a smart idea because the rice really was delicious; in fact the whole dish was really well seasoned and had great herbs and spices so I think I will definitely order this the next time I go back and I look forward to that.  Not many people recognize Banderillas on the House specialty section of the menu in many Mexican restaurants and so they don't order it and don't realize what a great dish they're missing. Good dish for mushroom lovers.

Bottom line, good meal and we'll be heading back for more.

Best chips and salsa. Perfect match with an incredible mango margarita! Service is excellent, the owner is a friendly man that ensures all his guests are taken care of. My husband and I have never ordered anything we did not like. Some of our favorites are the Chile Relleno and carne Asada! The owner makes the best michelada there is!
